The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) has inaugurated a Research, Design & Innovation (RD&I) Centre in Bengaluru to accelerate product and packaging innovation for the Indian market.
Spread across 13,000 sq. ft., the facility houses a laboratory and a digitally enabled pilot plant, bringing together ice cream science, culinary expertise, packaging development and consumer technical insights under one roof.
Innovation Hub
The centre will support innovation across Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D’Or, Feast and Twister brands.
It will enable faster product development across cups, sticks, cones, kulfi and premium ice cream cakes.
The facility is also equipped for cold-chain and climate testing, 3D packaging prototyping and transport simulations.
The Bengaluru centre will work closely with TMICC’s Global Design Centre in the U.K. and the Regional Innovation Hub in Istanbul to develop products based on local consumer preferences and market insights.
Focus On Indian Market
Kwality Wall’s (India) Deputy Managing Director Chitrank Goel said, “The new Bengaluru ice cream centre will help us respond faster to evolving consumer preferences, create products that are relevant to Indian tastes and occasions, and continue building a future-ready ice cream business in India.”
The Magnum Ice Cream Company Chief Research Development & Innovation Officer Zbigniew Lewicki said the centre combines the company’s global science, technology and culinary expertise with local consumer insights to accelerate innovation.
The company said the facility reinforces its focus on innovation, premiumisation and quality in India.
As the domestic ice cream market expands, the Bengaluru centre is expected to support Kwality Wall’s innovation pipeline and develop products for Indian consumers.
