Indian IT major Infosys has announced the appointment of Ashiss Kumar Dash as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Designate, setting the stage for a planned leadership transition at India’s second-largest IT services company.
Dash will take over as Managing Director & CEO from April 1, 2027, following the completion of incumbent CEO Salil Parekh’s second term, which will conclude after more than nine years at the helm. The appointment, recommended by the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, is subject to shareholder approval and will be for a five-year term.
Veteran insider to lead next phase
A company veteran with over three decades at Infosys, Dash currently heads a diversified global business portfolio spanning multiple industry verticals. He also leads the company’s sustainability business.
Over the years, he has held leadership roles across customer-facing businesses, delivery and global operations in multiple geographies, helping clients execute large-scale business and technology transformation programmes.
The Infosys Board said Dash’s blend of commercial leadership, strategic thinking and technology delivery expertise positions him well to steer the company through the next phase of AI-led transformation.
AI to shape future growth
Infosys believes artificial intelligence will play a defining role in the next phase of enterprise technology, and Dash is expected to build on the company’s AI strategy while strengthening its global delivery capabilities and customer relationships.
The leadership transition has been planned well in advance, providing continuity as the company navigates rapid technological shifts and evolving client requirements.
Board backs smooth transition
Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said the Board unanimously backed Dash’s appointment at a time when the technology industry is undergoing significant transformation.
“Our industry is entering a period of considerable change. The Board was clear that our next CEO needed to combine the ability to drive bold transformation with the judgment to preserve the values and customer trust that have always distinguished Infosys,” he said.
Salil Parekh welcomes successor
Infosys MD & CEO Salil Parekh said the company has built a strong leadership team aligned with its long-term vision.
“Having worked closely with Dash over many years, I have seen first-hand his integrity, customer focus and ability to lead through change. He brings a deep understanding of our clients, our business and our people, together with the vision and capability to lead Infosys through its next phase of transformation,” he said.
