Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) recorded a 100% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesales to 3,300 units in September 2026, compared with 1,652 units in September 2025, as the automaker builds momentum ahead of the festive season.
Nissan’s total wholesales, including domestic sales and exports, crossed the 10,000-unit mark during the month, reaching 10,025 units.
Domestic volumes double
Domestic wholesales increased by 1,648 units year-on-year in September, effectively doubling from the year-ago level.
The company attributed the growth to demand across its expanding SUV portfolio, including the new Nissan Tekton, Magnite and Gravite, along with the expansion of its dealer network across India.
The September performance comes as Nissan continues to focus on expanding its presence in the Indian passenger vehicle market through new products and a wider retail network.
Exports contribute 6,725 units
Nissan Motor India exported 6,725 units during September, accounting for about 67% of the company’s total wholesale volume for the month.
Domestic volumes contributed the remaining 33%.
The company continues to supply international markets from India under its ‘One Car. One World.’ strategy, which focuses on products built to consistent global quality standards.
Nissan expands SUV portfolio
The company said its SUV-focused portfolio is central to its strategy to build scale in India.
The new Nissan Tekton is positioned around the company’s SUV DNA, with Japanese design and craftsmanship, technology and everyday practicality. It is being offered alongside the Magnite and Gravite as Nissan seeks to strengthen its presence across key segments of the Indian automotive market.
Network expansion supports growth
Nissan said the expansion of its dealer network is helping improve customer reach across India. The company is also focusing on enhancing ownership experiences as it seeks to build its domestic business.
Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the near-doubling of domestic volumes validated the company’s product-led strategy and the strength of its network.
He also acknowledged the contribution of finance and business partners as well as the continued support of international dealers, distributors and customers to the company’s export performance.
Nissan said it remains focused on accelerating its momentum in India through new products and a stronger customer network.
