Thomas Cook India Relaunches Zero Markup Forex Card For Globetrotters

CW Bureau ·

Thomas Cook (India) Ltd has relaunched its One Currency Card as a Zero Markup Forex Card, offering international travellers zero forex markup and zero cross-currency conversion charges in a bid to make overseas spending more transparent and cost-effective.

The prepaid forex card is aimed at India’s growing base of digitally savvy international travellers and combines the convenience of a travel card with the ability to lock in exchange rates before departure, helping customers safeguard against currency volatility.

Lower costs for overseas travellers
The company said the new card addresses some of the biggest challenges faced by international travellers by eliminating additional forex markup charges when purchasing or loading foreign exchange.

It also allows customers to make payments in currencies beyond the US dollar without incurring cross-currency conversion charges, reducing the need to carry or exchange multiple foreign currencies while travelling.

Protection against currency volatility
A key feature of the prepaid card is the ability to pre-load funds in US dollars and lock in exchange rates before travel.

This enables travellers to protect themselves from fluctuations in the Indian rupee and major global currencies during their trip. Customers could also benefit if the US dollar appreciates after the card has been loaded.

The company said the feature offers greater predictability in travel expenses at a time when global currency markets continue to witness heightened volatility.

For value-conscious travellers
Thomas Cook (India) Chief Business Officer, Foreign Exchange, Deepesh Varma said, “Today’s travellers are far more value-conscious and digitally savvy when it comes to international spending. Our Zero Markup Forex Card has been designed to address the specific needs of today’s traveller by combining zero markup and zero cross-currency conversion charges with the unique advantage of locking in exchange rates before travel.”

He added that the card gives customers greater control over overseas spending while protecting them from unpredictable exchange rate movements, reinforcing Thomas Cook India’s position as a leading foreign exchange services provider.

Strengthening forex offerings
With the relaunch of its One Currency Card, Thomas Cook India aims to enhance the customer experience through greater transparency, lower transaction costs and protection from exchange rate fluctuations.

The company believes the offering will appeal to leisure travellers, business travellers and students seeking a secure and convenient payment solution for international travel.
