VinFast has signed letters of intent (LoIs) with its first 50 e-motorcycle dealer partners in India, marking a significant step in the Vietnamese electric vehicle maker’s plans to build a dedicated distribution network for electric motorcycles in the country.
Under the agreements, VinFast and its dealer partners will establish more than 50 e-motorcycle showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states and territories. The network will cover Delhi NCR, Rajasthan and Punjab in the North; Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh in Central India; Maharashtra and Gujarat in the West; Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in the South; and West Bengal and Odisha in the East.
Expanding across major two-wheeler markets
The selected markets have large two-wheeler populations, providing VinFast with an opportunity to expand its presence as electric mobility gains ground in India.
The company said its network expansion is aimed at bringing its electric two-wheelers closer to consumers while offering what it describes as modern, economical and sustainable mobility solutions.
The LOI signing ceremony was held at VinFast’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, during a visit by the Indian dealer partners.
The dealers also experienced VinFast’s manufacturing operations and production standards and observed the company’s e-motorcycle presence in the Vietnamese market.
First dedicated e-motorcycle network
VinFast said the LOIs mark a new phase in its Indian expansion and its first dedicated distribution network for e-motorcycle products in the country.
VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, Managing Director, Vo Thi Cam Tu, said India is one of the most important markets in the company’s global growth strategy, citing the country’s scale and growing demand for electric mobility.
She said the LOI signing demonstrates VinFast’s long-term commitment to India and its confidence in the market’s potential.
VinFast India E-Scooters, CEO, Anurag Saxena, said the partnership with more than 50 dealers across 15 states and territories and 34 cities marks the beginning of the company’s e-motorcycle journey in India.
He added that VinFast is also developing charging infrastructure and strengthening after-sales services to support customers throughout their ownership journey.
Electric two-wheelers have headroom
VinFast entered India’s green mobility market in 2025, with operations spanning the distribution, manufacturing and assembly of electric cars. The e-motorcycle dealer network now broadens the company’s presence in India’s mass-market two-wheeler segment.
India remains the world’s largest two-wheeler market, with 21.41 million two-wheelers registered in fiscal 2025-26, according to the company. Electric vehicles accounted for 6.54% of these registrations, indicating substantial scope for further electrification.
For VinFast, the expansion of its dealer footprint, charging infrastructure and after-sales network will be central to establishing its e-motorcycle business as it seeks to tap into India’s large and increasingly electrifying two-wheeler market.
