Park Medi World Ltd, North India’s second largest hospital chain, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% stake in Rudrapur-based Medicity Hospital for ₹177 crore in two tranches, marking its entry into Uttarakhand and expanding its footprint to six States.
The acquisition is part of the Group’s strategy to pursue disciplined and value-accretive inorganic growth by expanding into high-potential and underserved healthcare markets.
Around 80% of the shareholding will be acquired by August this year, while the remaining 20% stake will be acquired after March 2030.
Largest hospital in Kumaon region
Medicity Hospital is a NABH-accredited multi-super speciality hospital with 330 beds and is the largest hospital in the Kumaon region. The hospital offers over 20 specialities, including cardiac sciences, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, oncology, IVF and infertility, nephrology, gastroenterology, paediatrics and interventional radiology.
The facility is equipped with advanced medical infrastructure and supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists from leading national institutions. The hospital has built a strong regional presence through its patient-centric approach and focus on clinical outcomes.
Expansion plans
Park Medi World Managing Director, Ankit Gupta, said the acquisition marks a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to build a pan-North India healthcare network.
He said the transaction reflects the Group’s commitment to disciplined capital allocation, value-accretive growth and expanding access to high-quality healthcare across key regions.
Group background
Park Group currently operates 16 hospitals with a combined capacity of 3,960 beds. In addition to the Medicity acquisition, the Group is integrating four more hospitals, which are expected to add another 1,500 beds. With these additions, the Group’s total capacity is projected to rise to 5,790 beds by March 2028.
