Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has flagged off Project GANGA (Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement), a statewide digital inclusion initiative being implemented in association with OneOTT Intertainment Ltd. (OIL), the broadband vertical of Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), with the objective of connecting over 20 lakh households through high-speed broadband services.
The launch follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in March 2026 between the Uttar Pradesh State Transformation Commission (STC) and OIL to expand digital connectivity and promote entrepreneurship across the State.
Digital inclusion drive
Project GANGA aims to develop up to 10,000 local entrepreneurs at the Nyaya Panchayat level as Digital Service Providers (DSPs), creating sustainable livelihood opportunities in the digital economy.
The initiative is expected to generate more than one lakh employment opportunities, with a strong focus on women’s participation, while providing broadband connectivity under the “Ganga Fiber” brand over the next two to three years.
Infrastructure support
The project aligns with the State government’s vision of expanding access to digital education, healthcare, remote working opportunities and other digital services, particularly in underserved areas.
OIL will leverage the digital infrastructure capabilities of HGS and NXTDIGITAL, which together connect over five million homes across India and operate in more than 4,500 pin codes covering 1,500 cities and towns through a network of 15,000 franchise partners and over two lakh kilometres of fibre infrastructure.
Employment generation
“The launch of Project GANGA marks a significant step toward strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s digital infrastructure. We are enabling citizens across the State, especially women, to actively participate in this transformation as entrepreneurs and build a sustainable and growth-oriented digital livelihood in the emerging economy,” Uttar Pradesh State Transformation Commission Chief Executive Officer Manoj Kumar Singh said.
“The initiative will improve access to digital services, support economic growth and ensure inclusive connectivity across urban and rural areas,” he added.
“Project GANGA will open the door for thousands of local entrepreneurs to take ownership of their area’s digital growth. We are committed to building a digital ecosystem that creates opportunity, drives livelihoods and powers the State’s progress for years to come,” OneOTT Intertainment Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Vynsley Fernande said.
