Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd (TPL), a Chennai-based petrochemical manufacturer, reported a standalone profit after tax (PAT) of ₹77.82 crore for the first quarter of FY27, more than doubling from ₹33.22 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.
Revenue for Q1 FY27 increased by about 68% to ₹784.17 crore, compared with ₹468.27 crore in Q1 FY26.
The company also reported strong growth in operating performance, with EBITDA rising 138% and profit before tax (PBT) increasing 129% year-on-year.
Higher demand, supported by efficient cost management, helped TPL improve its operating profitability during the quarter.
Demand, efficiency drive growth
Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd, Vice Chairman, Ashwin Muthiah, and Founder Chairman, AM International, Singapore, said the company’s first-quarter performance reflected significant growth in both sales and profitability.
“The first quarter has delivered a strong performance, with both sales and profitability showing significant growth, with profitability more than doubling compared to the corresponding period last year. This performance reflects the benefits of our continued focus on cost-led operational efficiencies, improved capacity utilisation and our ability to respond to higher customer demand,” he said.
Despite the evolving geopolitical situation in the Middle East and its impact on input costs, lower import pressures supported the company’s performance during the quarter.
“We remain focused on strengthening our competitiveness while developing carbon-neutral products and solutions that address the evolving sustainability needs of our customers,” Muthiah added.
Key industrial chemicals producer
Incorporated in 1984, TPL is among India’s leading manufacturers of industrial intermediate chemicals, including Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), Caustic Soda and Propylene Oxide.
The company also sells Chlorine as a co-product of its Caustic Soda operations.
The Q1 performance comes as TPL continues to focus on operational efficiencies, capacity utilisation and responding to demand across its key chemical product segments.
