Godrej Industries Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Haryana outlining a proposed investment of around ₹20,000 crore in the state, with the potential to create approximately 40,000 jobs.
The proposed investment builds on the Group’s existing presence in Haryana and reflects its confidence in the state’s long-term economic and urban growth prospects.
Godrej Industries Group has invested around ₹12,000 crore in Haryana so far and employs approximately 9,000 people across its businesses in the state.
Godrej Properties to drive investment
Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) is expected to be a key driver of the proposed investment programme. The company has invested around ₹11,000 crore in Haryana to date and plans to invest another ₹16,000 crore by FY28.
GPL currently has 18 projects across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad, Panipat and Kurukshetra. Its future projects are expected to generate more than 11,000 jobs.
The Group’s investment plans extend beyond residential real estate, with a significant focus on commercial infrastructure.
₹3,500 crore office investment
Godrej Ventures, the Group’s real estate private equity business, has invested around ₹1,000 crore in Haryana and plans to deploy another ₹3,500 crore in Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram.
The proposed commercial investments are expected to generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, while strengthening Gurugram’s position as a commercial hub for multinational companies and global capability centres (GCCs).
“Haryana has emerged as an important growth driver for the Godrej Industries Group. The depth of its economy, the pace of urbanisation and the emergence of Gurugram as a major commercial and employment hub create opportunities across several of our businesses,” said Godrej Industries Group, Chairperson, Pirojsha Godrej.
He said the Group’s planned investments reflect its confidence in Haryana and its long-term commitment to the state’s economic and urban development.
Expanding business footprint
Godrej Industries Group’s other businesses also have an established presence in Haryana.
Godrej Capital operates five branches in the state and has facilitated around ₹550 crore in bookings through its financing business. Godrej Consumer Products has a network of 42 direct distributors and more than 250 rural stockists across Haryana.
The Group has also undertaken community and infrastructure initiatives in the state. It spends around ₹1 crore annually on CSR initiatives and more than ₹10 crore on infrastructure-level initiatives.
These initiatives include strengthening support systems for construction workers, providing weather-related insurance and supporting restoration and beautification of public spaces in Karnal and Kurukshetra.
“We appreciate the ease of doing business and the favourable investment environment the state government has fostered. This MoU reaffirms our confidence in Haryana as a long-term investment destination,” said Godrej Industries Group, Group Head and President – Corporate Affairs, Rakesh Swami.
He said the Group sees opportunities across residential and commercial development as well as the wider infrastructure and services ecosystem.
Godrej Industries Group said it will continue to work with the Haryana Government to support the state’s development priorities and facilitate investments across its businesses.
