Valvoline Cummins has renewed its exclusive partnership with Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV), for service fill and after-sales lubricant requirements.
The renewal marks the second extension of the partnership since it was established in 2019, making the association one of the longest-running OEM-lubricant partnerships in India’s commercial vehicle industry.
Focus on uptime and total cost of ownership
The extended partnership comes as commercial vehicle operators increasingly focus on higher vehicle uptime and lower total cost of ownership while the industry moves towards cleaner and alternate-fuel technologies.
Valvoline Cummins and Eicher Trucks and Buses will continue to develop application-specific fluids and use digitally integrated supply-chain systems to address the changing requirements of fleet operators.
Since 2019, Valvoline Cummins has supplied a premium range of lubricants formulated specifically for Eicher trucks and buses. The companies have also worked together through major changes in commercial vehicle technology, including the transition from BSIV to BSVI emission norms.
The integration of backend systems has helped streamline order fulfilment and supply-chain operations for VECV’s channel partners.
Next-generation fluids in focus
The renewed association will focus on developing lubricant and fluid technologies suited to the next phase of commercial vehicle evolution.
The areas of collaboration will include high-performance fluids designed for longer drain intervals, solutions for alternate-fuel applications such as CNG, and advancements in heat-transfer fluids.
The companies will also continue to use digital platforms to improve service delivery, strengthen supply-chain responsiveness and enhance the overall customer experience.

Seven-year partnership
The partnership has evolved alongside changes in India’s commercial vehicle industry, with the two companies working on lubricant requirements as vehicle technologies and emission standards have advanced.
Valvoline Cummins Private Limited is a 50:50 joint venture in India between Valvoline Global Operations and Cummins India Ltd. The company manufactures, distributes and markets lubricants, grease and other allied products.
The renewed partnership is expected to deepen collaboration between the two companies as Eicher Trucks and Buses expands its focus on vehicle efficiency, alternate fuels and technology-led customer service.
