Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL) has signed 20 hotels during the first quarter of FY27, taking its portfolio to 645 hotels, including a pipeline of 263 properties.
The hospitality major also opened 11 hotels during the quarter, taking its operational portfolio to over 380 hotels across brands and markets.
Growth Across Brands
IHCL Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, Suma Venkatesh, said 17 of the 20 hotel signings during the quarter were under the Gateway, Ginger and Tree of Life brands.
The signings included new destinations such as Bharatpur, Tiruchirappalli, Sindhudurg, Jawai and Wayanad, besides strengthening the company’s presence in Mumbai, Goa, Agra and Kolkata.
A new milestone
“Taj reached a milestone of a 150-hotel portfolio with three signings during the quarter, expanding its leisure footprint to Dharamshala, Barapani in Meghalaya and Kusur Valley in Maharashtra.
IHCL said the additions keep the company on track to achieve its target of a 700-hotel portfolio under its ‘Accelerate 2030’ strategy.
Hotel Openings
IHCL Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings & New Businesses, Deepika Rao, said the company opened 11 hotels during the quarter.
Internationally, IHCL expanded its presence with the opening of Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt and Taj Bush Lodge in Greater Kruger, South Africa.
The SeleQtions portfolio was expanded with Ayodhayam in Ayodhya and Bandra House in Mumbai. Gateway added a new hotel in Kandla.
Ginger continued its expansion with new hotels in Hyderabad, Agra, Kota, Gadchiroli in Maharashtra and Siwan in Bihar.
