Automobili Lamborghini has successfully concluded the inaugural edition of Esperienza Terra India, a six-day expedition across the rugged landscapes of Ladakh, marking the Italian luxury carmaker’s highest-altitude driving experience ever conducted anywhere in the world.
The exclusive programme brought together 18 customers and prospective customers from across India, offering them an opportunity to experience the performance and versatility of the Lamborghini Urus SE across some of the world’s most challenging mountain roads.
Urus SE tackles extreme Himalayan terrain
The expedition covered routes rising above 5,300 metres, taking participants through towering Himalayan passes, alpine lakes and rugged mountain terrain.
The drive included a mix of highways, gravel tracks and high-altitude roads, allowing the Urus SE to demonstrate its performance, handling and adaptability across diverse driving conditions.
The inaugural Indian edition also coincided with Automobili Lamborghini’s 63rd anniversary, celebrating the brand’s legacy of innovation, performance and design since its founding in 1963.
Milestone for Lamborghini India
Automobili Lamborghini Asia Pacific Region Director Francesco Scardaoni said the event marked an important milestone for the brand in India.
“Esperienza Terra is one of Lamborghini’s most distinctive experiential programmes, combining exceptional automobiles with extraordinary destinations to create unforgettable journeys for our customers. The inaugural edition in India reflects the continued growth and maturity of the Indian market. Hosting our highest-altitude driving experience ever in Ladakh perfectly embodies Lamborghini’s spirit of innovation, performance and the pursuit of new frontiers,” he said.
Curated driving experience
Designed to showcase the capabilities of Lamborghini’s Super SUV beyond conventional roads, the expedition blended adventure driving with curated hospitality and local cultural experiences.
The six-day journey began in Leh for acclimatisation before covering Magnetic Hill, the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, Chang La Pass (5,360 metres), Pangong Tso, Loma Bridge, Chumathang and finally Khardung La (5,359 metres), one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
Performance meets luxury
Throughout the expedition, the Lamborghini Urus SE showcased its advanced vehicle dynamics, adapting to rapidly changing terrain, extreme altitude and challenging road conditions while delivering stability, precision and driving confidence.
The programme also featured authentic Ladakhi hospitality, curated culinary experiences and cultural interactions, complementing Lamborghini’s signature Italian luxury experience.
Lamborghini India Head Nidhi Kaistha said Ladakh offered the ideal setting for the brand’s first Esperienza Terra programme in India.
“Ladakh provided the perfect setting for the first Esperienza Terra India, allowing our customers to experience the Urus SE in conditions unlike anywhere else in the country. Beyond demonstrating the vehicle’s outstanding performance across some of the world’s highest motorable roads, the expedition created unforgettable memories through curated hospitality, authentic local experiences and the shared passion that brings the Lamborghini community together,” she said.
With the successful completion of its inaugural edition, Esperienza Terra India adds a new chapter to Lamborghini’s customer engagement initiatives, reinforcing the brand’s strategy of offering exclusive ownership experiences that combine performance, exploration and luxury.
