Aggne, Capricorn Mutual Go Live On Duck Creek Core Insurance Platform

CW Bureau ·

Aggne, a Wipro company and insurance technology services provider, has announced the successful go-live of Capricorn Mutual on Duck Creek Technologies’ core insurance platform, marking a key milestone in the member-owned insurer’s technology modernisation programme.

The implementation was delivered in partnership with Duck Creek Technologies and is designed to strengthen service delivery, improve operational efficiency and create a technology foundation for Capricorn Mutual’s future growth.

Legacy systems replaced with cloud-native platform
As part of the transformation, Aggne partnered with Capricorn Mutual and Duck Creek Technologies to implement Duck Creek Policy, Rating, Billing, Claims and Clarity on Duck Creek OnDemand.

The new platform replaces legacy systems with a connected, cloud-native insurance environment.

Aggne led the implementation and integration of critical business systems covering banking, financial management, vehicle and property intelligence, as well as proprietary technologies. The integration was enabled through Duck Creek’s open API architecture.

The resulting ecosystem provides Capricorn Mutual with a unified operational framework aimed at enabling greater automation, stronger governance, improved data quality and enhanced operational efficiency.

The modernised platform is also expected to provide the agility required to respond to changing business requirements and support future growth.

Focus on member service and future growth
Capricorn Chief Financial Services Officer Damon de Nooyer, said the technology investment would strengthen the organisation’s ability to serve its members.

“This investment is about ensuring Capricorn Mutual is well positioned to support our Members now and into the future,” he said.

“By modernising our core systems, we’ve strengthened the foundations of the business and created new opportunities to improve how we work, make decisions and serve our Members. Aggne was a valued partner throughout the project, helping us successfully deliver a platform that will support our continued growth and commitment to providing Members with the protection and service they rely on,” he added.

Aggne CEO Asha Kalidindi said successful core-system transformation requires insurance expertise, implementation capabilities and close collaboration among stakeholders.

“We are proud to have partnered with Capricorn Mutual and Duck Creek on this important initiative. This go-live provides the foundation for future innovation while enabling improved operational efficiency, greater agility, and enhanced experiences for Capricorn Mutual’s members,” she said.

Insurance industry accelerates core modernization
The deployment comes amid growing momentum among insurers and mutual organisations to modernise core technology platforms. Such initiatives are increasingly focused on improving service delivery, optimising operations and creating the data and technology foundations required for future data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities.

For Capricorn Mutual, the implementation marks a significant step in its broader digital transformation journey, with the new platform bringing multiple core insurance functions and connected business systems into a unified technology environment.
