The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has unveiled “Scale without boundaries” as the theme for the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, underscoring India’s ambition to transform from a large technology market into a global hub for developing and scaling digital innovations.
The milestone edition of Asia’s largest digital technology forum will be held from October 7 to 10, 2026, at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre) in New Delhi.
The theme reflects India’s focus on taking emerging technologies beyond pilot projects and accelerating their adoption across industries, communities and geographies through stronger collaboration between industry, startups, academia, policymakers and consumers.
Four pillars to drive digital transformation
IMC 2026 will be structured around four strategic pillars that align with India’s vision of becoming a digitally empowered economy.
Srishti – Building the Future will focus on innovation, emerging technologies and next-generation digital infrastructure.
Suraksha – Strengthening Trust will emphasise secure, resilient and trusted digital ecosystems.
Sashakt – Expanding Opportunities aims to promote inclusive access to technology for citizens, businesses and startups.
Samvardhan – Fueling Growth will highlight the role of digital technologies in boosting investment, entrepreneurship, employment and economic growth.
The event will showcase advances across technologies including 5G, 6G, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and edge computing, satellite communications, electronics manufacturing, quantum technologies and green technologies.
India shifting from technology consumer to creator
Launching the theme, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said India’s telecom journey has evolved from connecting the next billion people to enabling the next billion possibilities.
He said the “Scale without boundaries” theme reflects the country’s ambition to ensure technologies, standards and solutions developed in India reach global markets and communities.
Scindia added that India is increasingly becoming a nation that designs, develops and scales technologies for the world, citing indigenous telecom technologies, 6G standards and digital public infrastructure as examples of the country’s transition from “Vocal for Local” to “Local for Global.”
Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani said the past decade has been transformative for India’s telecom sector and described IMC as a platform that enables collaboration among the government, startups, investors and industry stakeholders.
Department of Telecommunications Secretary and Digital Communications Commission Chairman Amit Agrawal said the 10th edition would adopt a broader strategy to showcase India’s telecom achievements on the global stage.
Focus on innovation and startups
Organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2026 will bring together telecom operators, global technology companies, policymakers, startups, investors, researchers and innovators.
The event will feature technology demonstrations, product launches, investment opportunities, policy discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. Its flagship startup initiative, ASPIRE, will continue to connect emerging technology companies with investors, incubators, accelerators and industry partners.
Beyond showcasing new technologies, the organisers said IMC 2026 will focus on how innovations can be integrated into real-world applications to build resilient, inclusive digital ecosystems and strengthen India’s position as a global technology leader.
The previous edition attracted more than 1.4 lakh visitors, featured 860 exhibitors from 101 countries, showcased 1,500 use cases, hosted 465 startups, and included 918 speakers across 113 sessions.
