Innefu Labs Bags Key Role In Shaping India’s AI Governance Framework

CW Bureau ·

Innefu Labs has announced its empanelment with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Government of India’s flagship Digital India programme.

The AI-driven company provides advanced data analytics and information security solutions to national security agencies. Notably, only six agencies, including Innefu Labs, were shortlisted from over 80 applicants, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey to drive large-scale AI innovation for governance.

Government push for AI-led governance
The approach of NeGD is centred on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning across ministries and departments to strengthen digital governance. This initiative has led to the creation of a specialised network of approved partners.

These partners will provide skilled AI/ML experts to implement solutions across areas such as natural language processing, computer vision, predictive analytics and generative AI. The broader objective is to establish national standards for AI adoption in governance, enabling faster, more efficient and scalable project execution through transparent resource sharing and consistent methodologies.

Role in national AI enablement framework
As an empanelled partner, Innefu Labs will contribute to building a future-ready AI enablement framework aligned with national priorities. The company will support government entities with highly skilled professionals, including AI architects, data scientists, ML engineers and MLOps specialists.

This engagement is expected to accelerate the deployment of AI-driven solutions across critical domains while maintaining strong standards of security and compliance.

Recognition for fifteen years of work
Innefu Labs Co-founder and CEO Tarun Wig said the empanelment represents recognition of over fifteen years of work in building AI systems for highly demanding and sensitive environments.

He highlighted the company’s experience in developing intelligence fusion platforms for national security agencies, predictive analytics systems for law enforcement, and financial fraud detection tools for tax authorities. He added that the empanelment reinforces the importance of secure, accountable and sovereign indigenous AI capabilities in scaling India’s governance systems.

Track record across critical deployments
Founded in 2010, Innefu Labs has established a strong track record of deploying AI at scale across key institutions in India. Its major implementations include the largest Intelligence Fusion Centre in Southeast Asia, the National Terrorism Data Fusion and Analysis Centre, OSINT and facial recognition platforms for law enforcement agencies, predictive policing infrastructure for the Ahmedabad Safe City initiative, and advanced financial analytics solutions for financial intelligence agencies.

Streamlining AI adoption for government
The NeGD empanelment framework is designed to eliminate the friction associated with repeated and time-consuming procurement processes for government agencies seeking AI solutions.

Central ministries, state governments and public sector undertakings can now access Innefu Labs’ AI capabilities through a streamlined, pre-approved mechanism. This can be done either via NeGD facilitation or directly at standardised rates, enabling faster deployment timelines while ensuring adherence to security, compliance and responsible AI standards required in government systems.
