Singapore-based Memsift Innovations Pte Ltd and CM Plus Singapore Pte. Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the deployment of next-generation circular water infrastructure solutions across Japan and Southeast Asia.
The partnership combines Memsift’s proprietary Hexagon technology platform with CM Plus’ engineering, project management and operational expertise to help industries improve water reuse, ultra-pure water production, resource recovery and wastewater minimisation.
The collaboration comes as manufacturers face growing challenges from water scarcity, tightening environmental regulations, sustainability commitments and rising operating costs.
Circular manufacturing
The two companies said industrial wastewater should be viewed as a strategic resource rather than a disposal challenge. Their partnership aims to support industries in recovering and recycling water, producing ultra-pure water for critical manufacturing processes, recovering valuable chemicals and raw materials, and reducing wastewater discharge.
Memsift’s Hexagon platform integrates water recovery, purification, concentration and resource recovery into a single infrastructure solution, enabling manufacturers to move closer to closed-loop operations.
Focus sectors
The collaboration will initially target opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, specialty chemicals, battery materials and advanced manufacturing sectors across Japan and Southeast Asia.
The companies plan to jointly develop pilot projects and commercial deployments that demonstrate how circular water infrastructure can reduce freshwater consumption, lower carbon emissions, recover valuable resources and improve manufacturing sustainability.
Management comment
“Industrial wastewater should no longer be viewed as a disposal problem. It is a resource opportunity,” said Memsift Innovations Founder and Chief Executive Officer J. Antony Prince.
“By combining Memsift’s technology innovation with CM Plus’ engineering excellence and strong industry presence, we are creating a pathway for manufacturers across Japan and Southeast Asia to build more resilient, resource-efficient and sustainable operations,” he added.
CM Plus Singapore Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer Tsunehiro Togashi said the demand for integrated water and resource management solutions was growing rapidly as industries transition towards sustainable and resilient manufacturing.
Industry trend
The companies said the partnership reflects a broader shift in global manufacturing, where water is increasingly being recognised as a strategic resource rather than a consumable utility.
