Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd has secured two orders worth more than ₹985 crore, including taxes, for a 534.3 MWp project in Rajasthan and two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of 616 MWh in South Africa.
The Rajasthan order has been awarded by a new customer, while the South African order has been secured from a repeat customer. Both orders strengthen the company’s presence in renewable energy and energy storage markets.
Rajasthan order covers BOS package
The Rajasthan project involves a Balance of System (BOS) package for a 534.3 MWp renewable energy project. The company expects the project to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 0.80 million tonnes after commissioning.
The order will add to Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy’s project portfolio in India, while supporting the expansion of renewable energy generation capacity in Rajasthan.
South Africa order covers BESS
The South African order covers two BESS projects with a combined energy storage capacity of 616 MWh. The project involves a turnkey EPC wrap package.
The order is the second-largest utility-scale BESS project to be undertaken by Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, strengthening its capabilities in large-scale energy storage projects.
