Godrej City, Panvel, the 145-acre mixed-use township developed by Godrej Properties, has expanded its sporting and lifestyle offering with the opening of On Court, one of India’s largest indoor padel facilities and the largest dedicated padel facility in Panvel.
The new facility features four international-standard indoor courts and was inaugurated in the presence of more than 100 guests from the worlds of business, entertainment and sport.
The opening also featured global padel stars Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, ranked World No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, who joined the celebrations as part of the Padel All Stars event.
Four international-standard courts
Developed in partnership with PadelPark India, On Court features four indoor courts with turf surfaces in a distinctive terracotta finish. The courts have been designed to cater to both competitive matches and recreational play.
The facility adds another dimension to Godrej City, Panvel’s growing sporting and lifestyle ecosystem. The township already features a 9-hole international-standard golf course, alongside expansive green spaces.
The addition of padel brings two rapidly evolving sporting experiences — golf and padel — together within the same mixed-use development.
New Sky Villas phase
Alongside the launch of On Court, Godrej City, Panvel has announced a new phase featuring 3- and 4-bed Sky Villas.
Located beside the hills and close to the 9-hole golf course and padel courts, the residences are designed around an active and wellness-focused lifestyle. Each residence opens onto an expansive deck, while the new phase includes a range of wellness-themed amenities.
The development seeks to combine residential living with access to sporting, leisure and wellness infrastructure within a single address.
Building a sporting ecosystem
Godrej Properties Ltd CEO – Mumbai Zone, Amitesh Shah, said the rapid global growth of padel and increasing interest in India underline the need for high-quality sporting infrastructure.
“Padel has seen remarkable growth globally, and the enthusiasm we are now seeing for the sport in India is very exciting. As participation grows, creating high-quality sporting infrastructure and making these experiences more accessible will be important to building a strong ecosystem for the sport,” Shah said.
He added that Godrej City, Panvel’s 145-acre township, is bringing this vision to life through its partnership with PadelPark India and the development of Panvel’s largest dedicated padel facility.
“With a 9-hole golf course, expansive open greens and a growing sporting ecosystem, Godrej City, Panvel has been envisioned around an active lifestyle. We are delighted to support Padel All Stars and hope it helps introduce many more people to this exciting sport,” he said.
Focus on active living
Godrej City Partnr, Panvel, Uraaz Bahl, said the township’s vision has always been centred on experiences that encourage residents to connect, stay active and pursue their interests.
“Padel is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports and India is at the beginning of an exciting journey,” Bahl said.
He said the partnership with PadelPark India reflects the development’s focus on creating an integrated community around sporting and lifestyle experiences.
“As someone who enjoys playing padel myself, it is incredibly exciting to welcome the world’s No. 1 players to India through Padel All Stars. We hope this event inspires many more people to discover the sport and contributes meaningfully to the growth of India’s padel ecosystem,” Bahl said.
With the addition of On Court and the new Sky Villas phase, Godrej City, Panvel is positioning itself not merely as a residential development but as a lifestyle-led mixed-use township integrating homes, sport, wellness and leisure.
