Satin Growth Alternatives Invests ₹5 Cr In Woman-Led Indic Wisdom

CW Bureau ·

Satin Growth Alternatives Ltd (SGAL), the youngest subsidiary of Satin Creditcare Network Ltd (SCNL), has made its first investment of ₹5 crore from its Category II Alternative Investment Fund in woman founder-led Indic Wisdom.

Indic Wisdom manufactures and distributes traditionally crafted food products, including wood-pressed oils and value-added products made from native Indian oilseeds.

First investment under growth strategy

The investment comprises Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) and Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS), marking the first deployment under SGAL’s strategy of providing quasi-debt and equity-linked capital to growth-stage businesses.

The funds will be used to expand Indic Wisdom’s manufacturing capacity as the company looks to increase its offline distribution network and overall revenue over the next two years.

Oilseeds and upcycling

“Our first investment reflects exactly the kind of business SGAL was built to back: women-led, sustainable, category defining, and ready to scale with the right capital structure behind it,” said SGAL, Director and SCNL, Chief Strategy Officer, Aditi Singh.

Indic Wisdom’s work on oilseed upcycling and its early strength across both online and offline channels made this an easy conviction call,” she said.

NCD and CCPS structure

“This deployment puts our quasi-debt and equity-linked strategy into practice for the first time, and Indic Wisdom is a strong proof point. The NCD and CCPS structure gives us downside protection while allowing us to participate in the company’s equity upside as it scales manufacturing and deepens its offline footprint,” said SGAL, Fund Manager and Partner, Shivika Sethi.

Leveraging branch network

SGAL has also outlined plans to leverage SCNL’s branch network to support Indic Wisdom’s pan-India distribution expansion and accelerate topline growth. The investment is expected to help Indic Wisdom strengthen its supply chain and expand its reach to rural households through SCNL’s network.

Targets ₹200 crore ARR

“Investment from SGAL accelerates our journey towards achieving ₹200 crore ARR in the next 12 months by expanding our distribution footprint and strengthening our supply chain. More importantly, it enables us to connect with millions of rural households through Satin’s extensive and trusted network,” said Indic Wisdom, Founder, Prajakta Khare.
