IHCL To Set Up Tree Of Life Resort In Wayanad, Marks Brand’s Kerala Debut

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort in Wayanad, Kerala, marking the brand’s entry into the state.

The brownfield project, spread across more than four acres, will feature a 55-key resort overlooking the Banasura Lake with views of the surrounding landscape.

Expanding presence in leisure destinations
IHCL Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development Suma Venkatesh said evolving travel preferences are driving demand for immersive and nature-led hospitality experiences.

“As travel preferences continue to evolve towards more immersive, nature-led stays, Wayanad is emerging as a key destination on India’s leisure map. Tree of Life, anchored in authenticity and a deep sense of place, brings its distinctive, experience-led approach to this setting,” she said.

She added that the signing reflects Tree of Life’s strategy to expand into high-potential leisure markets and marks the brand’s debut in Kerala.

The resort will include an all-day dining restaurant and bar along with wellness and recreational facilities such as a swimming pool and spa.

Partnership for Kerala expansion
Geeone Exports Pvt. Ltd. Chairman and Geeone International LLC Managing Director Saeed Edavankandy said the partnership with IHCL is expected to strengthen Wayanad’s appeal as a premium getaway destination.

“We are delighted to partner with IHCL to bring the Tree of Life brand to Wayanad. We are confident the resort will enhance Wayanad’s positioning as a preferred getaway,” he said.

Located in the Western Ghats, Wayanad is known for its biodiversity, hill landscapes and nature tourism attractions including Banasura Dam, Pookode Lake and the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.

With this addition, IHCL will have 23 hotels in Kerala, including five currently under development.
