Air India Express has expanded its domestic network by commencing operations from Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal, with the launch of two daily flights to Delhi and a daily service to Mumbai, strengthening air connectivity for Madhya Pradesh’s capital.
The airline’s inaugural Delhi flight departed Bhopal at 12:45 pm and arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2:15 pm, while the first Mumbai service took off at 1:40 pm and landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 3:25 pm.
Bookings for the new services are available through the airline’s website, mobile app and other major travel booking platforms.
Strengthening Madhya Pradesh network
With the addition of Bhopal, Air India Express has further expanded its footprint in Madhya Pradesh and now operates around 55 weekly flights across Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior.
The latest expansion follows the airline’s recent launch of direct international flights between Indore and Abu Dhabi, enhancing overseas connectivity from the state.
The airline said the expanded network is expected to improve passenger mobility while supporting tourism, trade and broader economic development in the region.
Celebrating state’s cultural heritage|
Air India Express also highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s rich artistic traditions through its Tales of India initiative.
The airline’s Boeing 737-8 aircraft VT-BXQ and VT-BXY feature tail designs inspired by two of the state’s renowned handicrafts, Bagh hand-block printing and Chanderi handwoven textiles, showcasing India’s diverse cultural heritage across its fleet.
Expanding domestic and international network
A Tata Group airline, Air India Express currently operates more than 500 daily flights, connecting 43 domestic and 16 international destinations across South, Southeast and West Asia.
The airline operates a fleet of more than 100 Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 family aircraft and continues to expand its network as part of its growth strategy.
