AXOR Parent Vega Auto Localises Advanced Helmet Visor Technology

CW Bureau ·

Vega Auto Accessories has become the first company in India to manufacture REVO Optical Coated Helmet Visors domestically, marking a significant step towards localisation of premium helmet components and strengthening the country’s rider safety ecosystem.

The company, which owns premium helmet brand AXOR, has invested over ₹2 crore in advanced optical coating technology and precision manufacturing infrastructure to produce the visors in India. The investment is expected to support an annual production capacity of up to 2.4 million REVO Optical Coated Visors in the near future.

The move aligns with the broader push towards indigenous manufacturing of high-value automotive safety components, reducing dependence on imports while enhancing India’s manufacturing capabilities.

Beyond impact protection
Traditionally, helmet innovation has centred on impact resistance. However, Vega Auto is seeking to redefine rider safety by focusing on visual performance, arguing that clear vision is critical to preventing accidents before they occur.

Developed under AXOR’s philosophy of “Protection Begins with Vision,” the REVO Optical Coated Visor uses multilayer optical coating technology to minimise glare, reduce visual fatigue and improve optical clarity during daytime riding.

The company said the technology enables riders to better anticipate road conditions, respond more quickly to changing traffic situations and enjoy greater riding comfort during long journeys.

Building optical manufacturing capabilities
The launch represents a technological milestone for India’s helmet industry, where advanced optical visor technologies have largely been imported.

By manufacturing the visors locally, Vega Auto aims to build domestic expertise in precision optical coating while expanding indigenous production of premium helmet components.

The REVO visor also features a reflective finish designed to combine visual performance with premium aesthetics.

Investment in innovation
Vega Auto Accessories Managing Director Girdhari Chandak said the company believes rider safety begins with better vision, enabling riders to anticipate hazards earlier and react more effectively.

He said becoming the first Indian manufacturer of REVO Optical Coated Helmet Visors reflects Vega Auto’s commitment to developing world-class safety technologies in India.

According to Chandak, the investment in optical coating technology marks the beginning of a broader effort to redefine helmet innovation by combining protection with enhanced visual performance and rider confidence.
