Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp has laid the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, marking the beginning of a ₹3,200 crore-plus investment roadmap aimed at transforming the city into a global manufacturing, logistics and electric mobility hub.

The new facility, involving an initial investment of more than ₹750 crore, is expected to strengthen the company’s domestic and international spare parts operations while enhancing its global supply chain. The announcement reinforces Hero MotoCorp’s long-term commitment to expanding its manufacturing footprint and supporting India’s automotive and EV ecosystem.

Investment to strengthen manufacturing ecosystem
The upcoming Global Parts Centre will function as the strategic hub for Hero MotoCorp’s spare parts business, catering to both domestic and international markets.

The company said the broader investment programme will significantly expand the capabilities of its Tirupati manufacturing facility, where its entire electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered and manufactured.

With the planned expansion, the plant’s annual production capacity is expected to increase to between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units, strengthening Tirupati’s position as a key manufacturing base for future mobility.

Andhra Pradesh welcomes expansion
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the investment reflects the state’s investor-friendly policies and industrial ecosystem.

Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Dr Pawan Munjal said, “At Hero MotoCorp, we have always believed that business growth and nation-building go hand in hand. The foundation stone of our second Global Parts Centre in Tirupati marks an important milestone in our journey and reflects our deep confidence in India’s future and Andhra Pradesh’s vision for growth.”

He added that the investment would transform Tirupati into a future-ready manufacturing and electric mobility hub while strengthening the company’s global supply chain and supporting its ‘Made in India, for India and the World’ vision.

Pawan Munjal also dedicated the project to the legacy of the company’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, on his 103rd birth anniversary, saying the new centre reflects his vision of building institutions that shape the future.

Around 4,000 jobs expected
Hero MotoCorp said the expansion is expected to generate around 4,000 employment opportunities, supporting both the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and the Andhra Pradesh government’s SwarnAndhra initiative.

The company expects the project to boost local supply chains, attract allied industries and contribute to sustained economic development across the Rayalaseema region.

Community initiatives announced
Alongside the investment announcement, Hero MotoCorp unveiled two community-focused initiatives in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government.

The company launched the Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship, which will provide full tuition support to meritorious engineering students studying at state IIITs across Andhra Pradesh’s 28 districts.

Hero MotoCorp also announced that it will deploy VIDA electric scooters for women police personnel in Tirupati district and provide specialised road safety training to promote sustainable mobility and women’s empowerment.

The company said these initiatives reflect its continued focus on combining industrial growth with community development and skill creation.
