Nazara Technologies To Raise ₹734 Cr; Incoming CEO Invests ₹583 Cr

CW Bureau ·

Nazara Technologies Ltd, India’s only publicly listed gaming company, has approved a preferential issue of equity shares worth approximately ₹733.5 crore, with the entire investment coming from the founders and senior leadership team of Bluetile Games and BestPlay Systems.

The proposed issue, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, will see equity shares issued at ₹306 per share, a price determined in accordance with the SEBI (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, based on the relevant date of July 31, 2026.

The investment is being viewed as a strong vote of confidence in Nazara’s long-term growth strategy and leadership.

Incoming CEO to invest ₹583 crore
The largest investor in the preferential issue will be Raymond Albaladejo Stauffer, who is set to assume office as Chief Executive Officer of Nazara Technologies from September 1, 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Stauffer will invest approximately ₹583.48 crore, making him one of the company’s largest individual shareholders.

Rather than receiving additional stock-based incentives upon assuming the CEO role, Stauffer has chosen to make a substantial personal investment, aligning his interests directly with those of Nazara’s shareholders.

The remaining investments will come from members of the Bluetile and BestPlay leadership team.

Funds to drive acquisitions and AI investments
Nazara said the capital raised will strengthen its balance sheet and support its next phase of growth.

The proceeds will be deployed primarily towards strategic acquisitions, expanding existing gaming businesses, investing in owned intellectual property, building AI-enabled game development and operational capabilities, and pursuing other opportunities aligned with the company’s global gaming strategy.

The company added that capital allocation will continue to be governed by its Investment Committee and Board oversight framework.

Strong endorsement of growth strategy
Nazara Technologies Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Nitish Mittersain said the investment by the Bluetile and BestPlay leadership team reflects strong confidence in the company.

“The decision by Raymond and the Bluetile and BestPlay leadership team to invest approximately ₹734 crore of their own capital into Nazara is a powerful endorsement of the global platform we have built over the last few years. As founder, it is deeply heartening to see Nazara recognised and respected across the global gaming industry,” he said.

‘Most exciting chapter ahead’
Bluetile Chief Executive Officer Raymond Albaladejo Stauffer said he was reinvesting a substantial portion of the proceeds from the Bluetile and BestPlay transaction back into Nazara because of his confidence in the company’s future.

He said Nazara possesses the platform, financial strength and ambition to build a truly global gaming business while also creating significant operational efficiencies.

“The next chapter for the company is the most exciting yet. This reinvestment reflects my full conviction and confidence in the future of Nazara we are building together,” he said.

The preferential issue marks one of the largest promoter and management-led capital commitments in India’s gaming industry and is expected to provide Nazara with additional financial firepower as it pursues global expansion through acquisitions, technology investments and AI-driven game development.
