Hero MotoCorp Launches India’s First 100cc Flex Fuel Motorcycles In Delhi

CW Bureau ·

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the country’s first flex fuel motorcycles in the 100cc segment with the launch of the new Splendor+ and HF Deluxe, marking a significant milestone in India’s transition towards cleaner and more energy-secure mobility solutions.

The motorcycles were unveiled ahead of World Environment Day in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.

First flex fuel motorcycles in the mass segment
Designed for daily commuters, the new motorcycles are compatible with ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85, allowing consumers to use higher ethanol blends without compromising on performance or affordability.

The launch makes Hero MotoCorp the first manufacturer to introduce flex fuel technology in India’s highly competitive 100cc motorcycle category, which accounts for a significant share of the country’s two-wheeler market.

The company said the initiative aligns with India’s broader efforts to reduce dependence on imported crude oil while promoting cleaner fuel alternatives.

Supporting India’s energy security goals
Flex fuel vehicles are capable of operating on varying blends of petrol and ethanol, helping reduce carbon emissions and supporting the government’s ethanol blending programme.

According to Hero MotoCorp, the new motorcycles will contribute to India’s goal of reducing economic carbon intensity by 45% by 2030 while promoting the use of domestically produced biofuels.

The company added that the motorcycles have been engineered with minimal-to-no import content, reinforcing the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Nationwide rollout to begin from July
Hero MotoCorp said the flex fuel variants will be launched initially in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra in July 2026, followed by a phased nationwide rollout.

The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel has been priced at ₹72,792 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Splendor+ Flex Fuel carries an ex-showroom Delhi price of ₹82,710.

Developed at Jaipur innovation centre
The motorcycles have been developed at Hero MotoCorp’s Centre for Innovation & Technology (CIT) in Jaipur.

Commenting on the launch, Hero MotoCorp, Chief Executive Officer, Harshavardhan Chitale said, “The launch of the Flex Fuel-ready Splendor+ and HF Deluxe marks another important step in our commitment towards cleaner and sustainable mobility. Developed at our Centre for Innovation & Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, these motorcycles underscore our commitment to delivering future-ready and locally relevant technologies.”

He added that the products reflect India’s growing manufacturing capabilities while supporting the country’s long-term energy security goals.

Ministers hail move towards cleaner mobility
Speaking at the launch event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said the introduction of flex fuel motorcycles in the mass-market segment would help reduce crude oil imports, support ethanol adoption and strengthen India’s self-reliance ambitions.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said the launch represents another milestone in building a mobility ecosystem powered by cleaner and domestically produced fuels, while creating additional value for farmers through the expansion of the biofuels economy.

Expanding alternative fuel portfolio
The launch further strengthens Hero MotoCorp’s efforts to diversify its alternative fuel and sustainable mobility portfolio as the company explores multiple technologies to support India’s evolving transportation landscape.

Industry observers believe the introduction of flex fuel motorcycles in the entry-level commuter segment could accelerate consumer adoption of ethanol-based fuels and contribute to the government’s energy transition agenda
