Asian Paints, in collaboration with St+art Foundation and XXL Collective, has unveiled two public art initiatives in Srinagar — Aks-e-Kashmir and Donate A Wall — celebrating the Valley’s cultural heritage.
The initiatives combine traditional Kashmiri identity with contemporary public art, highlighting the region’s stories, craftsmanship and living heritage.
Shikaras turn into floating art
Under Aks-e-Kashmir, 40 iconic shikaras have been transformed into floating works of art celebrating the diverse identities of Kashmir.
Asian Paints Royale Glitz has been used to create a rich finish, while Apcolite Premium Enamel adds subtle shimmer. Ador and Pure Royale fabrics have been used for upholstery and furnishings inside the shikaras.
Mural marks decade of art
The Kashmir chapter of Donate A Wall marks the 10th year of the public art initiative with an 11,500 sq. ft. mural at the University of Kashmir.
Created in collaboration with St+art Foundation and the University of Kashmir, the mural transforms the façade of the Allama Iqbal Library Building.
Public spaces get artistic makeover
The mural has been created using Asian Paints Apex Ultima Protek, designed to withstand changing weather conditions while retaining its vibrancy.
The University of Kashmir becomes the latest addition to Donate A Wall, which has transformed 24 public spaces across 18 cities over the past decade.
Art celebrates Kashmir heritage
“Through Aks-e-Kashmir and the Kashmir chapter of Donate A Wall, we wanted to create something that belongs to the Valley and reflects its living heritage.
