Uno Minda Ltd has approved Detailed Project Reports for setting up four plants at Kharkhoda in Haryana, Hosur, Bengaluru and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra.
The projects involve a total investment of ₹1,415 crore and will expand the company’s manufacturing capacity across alloy wheels, casting and automotive components.
Kharkhoda plant to add alloy wheel capacity
The board approved a two-wheeler alloy wheel plant at Kharkhoda with an annual capacity of 3.3 million units.
The project includes relocating 2 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra, to the new facility.
The plant will come up on an existing large land parcel near Uno Minda’s operational and under-construction plants.
The estimated additional capex is ₹155 crore, with capacity to be added in phases and commercial production targeted by Q4 FY28.
Hosur facility to consolidate operations
Uno Minda will also establish a greenfield facility at Hosur, where land for the project has already been acquired.
The facility will manufacture products for engine, EV and powertrain, structural and general applications, along with high-pressure die-casting two-wheeler alloy wheels.
The estimated incremental capex is ₹510 crore.
Existing casting operations at Hosur will be consolidated and relocated to the new facility by Q1 FY29.
Bengaluru plant to expand capacity
The board approved an expansion of Uno Minda Kyoraku’s Bengaluru plant at an estimated capex of ₹80 crore.
The plant currently has an annual capacity of 3.28 million units, with another 1.38 million units proposed to be added by Q1 FY28.
Maharashtra facility to make auto components
The board also approved a project of Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Uno Minda India Pvt Ltd, at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The facility will manufacture interior and exterior automotive products, airbags, hoses and body sealing parts.
The project involves an estimated capex of ₹670 crore, with the proposed capacity addition targeted for completion by Q4 FY29.
Board approves debt raising plans
The board also approved the issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures of up to ₹600 crore.
It also approved issuance of Commercial Papers from time to time, up to a revolving limit of ₹500 crore.
Funding for the four projects will be met through a combination of term loans and internal accruals.
