Lemon Tree Expands Presence In Assam, Signs 70-Key Hotel In Jorhat

Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd., one of India’s leading hospitality companies, has strengthened its presence in Assam by signing a 70-room Lemon Tree Hotel in Jorhat.

The property will be managed by Carnation Hotels Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels.

Assam expansion

With the latest signing, Lemon Tree Hotels now has seven properties in Assam, including one operational hotel and six under development.

Lemon Tree Hotels President Vishvapreet Singh Cheema said the company’s expansion strategy is focused on strengthening its presence in high-growth regional markets where demand for branded hospitality continues to rise.

Tourism potential

Jorhat, widely known as the ‘Tea Capital of the World’, is home to more than 135 tea gardens, including the renowned Cinnamora and Gatoonga estates, and the Tocklai Tea Research Institute.

Strategic location

The city also serves as the gateway to Majuli, the world’s largest river island and a major centre of Vaishnavite culture, making it an emerging tourism destination in Northeast India.

The hotel will enjoy convenient connectivity, with Jorhat Airport located about 6 km away and Jorhat Railway Station around 2.5 km from the property. It will also be well connected by road to key destinations across Assam and the Northeast.
