Swiggy Introduces 24×7 AI Business Partner Guru For 2.7 Lakh Restaurants

CW Bureau ·

Swiggy has announced the rollout of Guru, a 24×7 AI-powered business assistant designed to help restaurant partners make data-driven decisions, optimise sales and manage day-to-day operations through a single conversational interface.

The platform is being launched across 720+ cities and will be available to more than 2.7 lakh restaurant partners, ranging from neighbourhood kitchens to multi-outlet businesses.

Guru enables restaurant partners to access operational information, analyse business performance and resolve queries through conversational prompts. The interface is available in more than 20 vernacular languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Assamese, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam and Telugu.

AI assistant for restaurant operations
Through Guru, restaurant partners can start, review and modify advertising campaigns using a single chat prompt. The platform also enables partners to manage discount campaigns and access detailed payout information, including tax reports and payout summaries.

The AI assistant can analyse a restaurant’s full sales funnel, covering GMV and orders, and identify areas where performance is falling short. It provides recommendations aimed at improving the identified gaps.

Guru tracks sales, orders, average order value (AOV) and more than 30 other business metrics over time, allowing restaurant partners to gain a more detailed view of their performance.

Menu and sales insights
The platform also provides menu-level insights. Restaurant partners can use Guru to add menu items, generate item descriptions and identify top-selling products.

By analysing category-level performance, the AI assistant provides personalised insights on what is working for individual restaurants and where improvements could potentially be made.

Swiggy Food Marketplace CEO Rohit Kapoor said AI is redefining how businesses operate and driving greater efficiency across industries.

“Having partnered with restaurants for over 12 years, we understand the operational demands and constant multi-tasking that our partners navigate every single day. Integrating AI into their everyday workflows is a natural next step in our journey together,” Kapoor said.

He added that Guru is designed as an AI-first assistant offering round-the-clock support, faster query resolution and actionable performance insights to help restaurant partners grow their businesses.

Scaling AI-led support
The rollout of Guru marks another step in Swiggy’s efforts to integrate AI into its restaurant-partner ecosystem. By bringing operational tools, performance analytics, campaign management and financial information into a conversational interface, the company aims to simplify restaurant management.

Swiggy said the initiative is intended to streamline operations, improve profitability and broaden access to real-time business insights for its restaurant partners across India.
