Burger King, one of the world’s leading fast-food brands, has opened its 600th restaurant in India at GTB Nagar, Delhi, marking a milestone in its expansion across the country.

The opening takes the brand’s India journey back to Delhi, where it opened its first restaurant in 2014. Burger King India now has more than 100 restaurants across Delhi-NCR and a presence in over 140 cities.

Expansion across metros and emerging cities

The company’s expansion has been supported by a focus on building its supply-partner network, menu innovation and value offerings. The addition of the BK Cafe business and growing digital adoption have also helped the brand expand across consumer segments and occasions.

The GTB Nagar restaurant is located in one of Delhi’s youthful neighbourhoods. It offers Burger King’s signature menu, including the WHOPPER, along with burgers, wraps, snacks, desserts and beverages.

Focus on menu innovation

“Our 600th restaurant is a testament to the love and support we get from our guests, vendor partners and most importantly each and every one of our restaurant employees. I remain thankful to all of them for their invaluable contributions,” Restaurant Brands Asia, Group CEO and Whole-Time Director, Rajeev Varman, said.

“Every new restaurant brings the brand closer to more guests, while enabling us to build greater relevance across markets and occasions. As we continue to scale, we are creating efficiencies that position the business for sustainable and responsible expansion and the next phase of our growth journey,” he said.

Building a digital-first QSR network

Burger King has continued to experiment with flavours and formats, including Indian favourites and limited-time offerings. Its menu has also featured globally inspired ranges such as Korean and Peri-Peri offerings.

The brand is expanding its portfolio of burgers, snacks, desserts and beverages for Indian consumers while strengthening its value-led offerings and digital-first ordering ecosystem. It is also developing formats suited to different consumption occasions.
