Enterprise software company Ramco Systems has appointed Sandesh Bilagi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), elevating the company’s former President & Chief Operating Officer to spearhead its next phase of global expansion and AI-led transformation.
Bilagi succeeds to the top role after leading Ramco’s operational turnaround, helping the company achieve six consecutive quarters of operational profitability through FY2026. As CEO, he will focus on accelerating Ramco’s global growth strategy while positioning the company as an AI-native enterprise software provider.
Led operational turnaround
A technology industry veteran with over two decades of experience, Bilagi has held leadership roles across sales, operations and delivery. He founded Ramco’s Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) business, which has grown into one of the company’s strongest markets through major customer wins and expansion of its product portfolio.
During his tenure at Ramco, Bilagi also steered the company through two leadership transitions and the operational disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, helping recalibrate the business for sustainable and profitable growth.
Before joining Ramco, he held leadership positions at HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra. A Chartered Accountant and CPA Australia, Bilagi has also led strategic growth initiatives, established offshore development centres and closed deals worth over $550 million with leading Australian enterprises.
Chairman backs leadership transition
Ramco Systems Chairman P R Venketrama Raja, said Bilagi had played a pivotal role in the company’s turnaround journey.
“Over the past several quarters, Ramco has emerged a stronger, more disciplined company—six straight quarters of operational profit are evidence of a genuine turnaround, not a one-time correction. Sandesh has been central to that journey. He understands our customers, our markets and our people, and he has consistently demonstrated the judgement to make difficult decisions and the resilience to see them through,” he said.
The chairman added that the Board was confident Bilagi’s appointment would help convert the company’s operational stability into sustained and profitable global growth.
Focus on AI and global expansion
Ramco Systems Managing Director, P V Abinav Ramasubramaniam Raja, said Bilagi had successfully built the company’s ANZ business from the ground up before leading the broader operational turnaround.
He said Ramco’s priorities now include accelerating international expansion and embedding artificial intelligence at the core of both its products and business operations.
CEO outlines roadmap
Ramco Systems Chief Executive Officer Sandesh Bilagi, said the company had completed the difficult task of restoring profitability and would now focus on scaling growth.
“Our next chapter will be defined by two priorities, expanding our global footprint across HR & Global Payroll, Aviation, ERP, Logistics and Chia product lines, and transforming Ramco into a truly AI-native company by rebuilding how we design, deliver and operate our products around AI,” he said.
Bilagi added that Ramco would also build a more agile organisation capable of adapting quickly to the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
