India’s Maharatna company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) remains focused on strengthening its long-term growth strategy by expanding its portfolio across petrochemicals, gas, renewable energy, digital businesses and customer-centric energy solutions.
“The first quarter of FY27 was financially challenging. However, it also demonstrated our resilience, operational agility, ability to navigate uncertainty and collective strength to work together as One BPCL,” said Chairman & Managing Director Sanjay Khanna.

“These short-term challenges have not altered our long-term direction. Rather, they have reinforced the importance of building a more diversified, resilient and future-ready business,” he said in a letter to shareholders.
According to him, India’s emergence as a leading economic and energy power presents significant opportunities and will create new avenues for growth.
BPCL with its integrated business model, diversified portfolio and long-term strategic vision is well positioned to capture these opportunities and create sustained value.

“The global energy system is undergoing one of the most profound transformations in its history. The future will be defined by the balance between energy security, affordability and sustainability,” he said.
“Guided by this reality, we are strengthening our core businesses while building new growth platforms across petrochemicals, gas, renewable energy, digital businesses and customer-centric solutions,” he added.

BPCL is entering the next phase of its journey while celebrating 50 years of nation-building with confidence, purpose and optimism.

Innovation focus
Innovation remains central to BPCL’s future growth. Through Project Ankur, BPCL continue to partner with startups and innovators to develop future-ready solutions aligned with our strategic priorities.
“Through this initiative, we have supported 31 startups with grant funding of approximately ₹28 crore. We have also established the BPCL Ankur Fund with a corpus of ₹50 crore to invest in high-potential startups aligned with our strategic priorities,” he said.
