Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has launched the new Exter Knight, an all-black, sporty avatar of its popular compact SUV, aimed at young urban customers seeking distinctive styling, technology and everyday practicality.
The new Exter Knight builds on the success of Hyundai’s Knight range, which has crossed 1 lakh cumulative sales since its introduction in 2022. The latest edition combines a black-themed exterior and interior with brass detailing, smart features, safety and comfort enhancements.
Available in two variants, HX 6 Knight and HX 10 Knight, the Exter Knight is priced from ₹8, 13,500 and is offered with petrol and Hy-CNG powertrain options.
Bold black styling
The Exter Knight gets a range of exclusive exterior enhancements designed to give the compact SUV a more aggressive road presence.
The package includes matte black Exter and Hyundai logos at the front and rear, dark grey bumper and side-sill garnishes, sporty black alloy wheels or dark grey styled steel wheels, red front brake calipers and an exclusive Knight emblem.
The combination of blacked-out elements, dark grey accents and red brake calipers gives the SUV a more distinctive and sporty character.
All-black cabin with brass accents
The Knight treatment continues inside the cabin with an all-black interior theme, complemented by brass accents.
The SUV gets exclusive black semi-fabric seat upholstery, while select variants feature amber-colour footwell lighting and a black D-cut steering wheel.
Hyundai said the interior enhancements are aimed at creating a more driver-focused ambience while reinforcing the sporty character of the Exter Knight.
Petrol and Hy-CNG options
The Exter Knight is powered by Hyundai’s 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine, with customers getting a choice of manual, AMT and Hy-CNG powertrains.
The powertrain options include a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission or Smart Auto AMT. Customers can also opt for the 1.2-litre bi-fuel Kappa petrol engine with CNG and a five-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai said the combination is designed to offer a balance of performance, efficiency and everyday versatility across city and highway driving.
Hyundai banks on Knight appeal
HMIL Head, Product Strategy & Planning, Amit Dhaundiyal said the Exter has emerged as a strong choice for customers looking for a stylish, feature-rich and dependable SUV.
“The introduction of the new Exter Knight will further enhance its bold SUV character through a distinctive all-black theme, striking brass detailing and exclusive design elements,” he said.
Dhaundiyal added that the Knight range has received an “overwhelming response” from customers, with more than 1,00,000 Knight vehicles sold across Hyundai’s product portfolio since its introduction.
“The new Exter Knight reflects HMIL’s commitment to offering differentiated products that resonate with evolving customer aspirations and lifestyles,” he said.
