Morris Garages (MG) has unveiled a new suite of electric mobility and intelligent driving innovations at the Beijing Auto Show, underlining its global ambitions in the new energy vehicle (NEV) space. The showcase signals MG’s continued focus on scaling advanced, tech-led mobility solutions across markets.
MG4 evolution
Headlining the showcase, the 2026 MG4 debuted in six variants with a series of design and technology upgrades. The model introduces new colour options such as Ice Crystal Blue and Almond Beige, alongside a black floating roof and 17-inch alloy wheels.
MG has also partnered with Jacky Tsai and the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts to offer customisation options, positioning the MG4 as a lifestyle-driven product beyond its commuter role.
Premium in-cabin experience
Inside, the MG4 focuses on comfort and connectivity. It features ventilated, heated, and massage-enabled front seats with memory functions. The cockpit integrates an 8-inch driver display and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, along with wireless connectivity and smart cockpit enhancements developed in collaboration with OPPO.
Driver assistance capabilities have also been enhanced, with features such as advanced parking assist functions designed for complex real-world scenarios.
Technology-led positioning
The MG4 remains central to the company’s EV strategy, incorporating technologies such as cell-to-body (CTB) integration, integrated thermal management, smart connectivity, and a semi-solid battery. The model has recorded consistent monthly sales above 10,000 units and has crossed 80,000 customers globally, reinforcing its position in the electric hatchback segment.
Expanding the portfolio
MG is set to expand the lineup further with the MG 4X, scheduled for a global debut in May. Positioned in the A-segment electric SUV category, the model will feature a semi-solid battery and rear-wheel drive with five-link independent suspension, even in entry-level variants.
AI-led mobility vision
The company also introduced the MG 07, a flagship coupe representing its push into intelligent mobility. Built on a new energy platform, the model will be offered in both electric and plug-in hybrid versions.
MG announced a strategic collaboration with Momenta to integrate advanced driver assistance systems. The MG 07 will feature the Momenta R7 solution, powered by a reinforcement learning-based world model and the XHEART X7 chip, enabling urban Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) and end-to-end assisted driving experiences.
Transformation roadmap
With the upcoming launches of MG 4X and MG 07, 2026 is shaping up as a pivotal year for MG’s transformation into a technology-led mobility brand. The company aims to combine design, performance, and intelligent systems to deliver accessible, next-generation electric vehicles globally.
