IHCL Joins Hands With oneworld To Build Integrated Travel Ecosystem

CW Bureau ·

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has forged a first-of-its-kind partnership with global airline alliance oneworld, a move that expands the reach of its Taj InnerCircle-NeuPass loyalty programme and strengthens its appeal among international travellers.

The collaboration brings together India’s largest hospitality company and one of the world’s leading airline alliances, enabling members from both ecosystems to access reciprocal benefits across air travel, hotel stays, dining and wellness experiences.

Expanding the travel ecosystem
The partnership reflects a growing trend among travel and hospitality companies to create integrated loyalty ecosystems that reward customers across multiple touchpoints of their journeys.

Through the alliance, Taj InnerCircle-NeuPass members will gain access to benefits on participating oneworld airlines. As part of an introductory offer, members can avail savings with Cathay Pacific until September 30, 2026, with additional airline-linked benefits expected to be introduced over time.

Similarly, oneworld loyalty members will receive exclusive savings across IHCL’s hospitality portfolio, which includes Taj, Claridges Collection, Brij, SeleQtions, Clarks, Gateway, Vivanta, Ginger, Tree of Life Hotels and amã Stays & Trails.

Loyalty recognition across networks
A key feature of the partnership is reciprocal tier recognition between the two loyalty programmes. Under the arrangement, Taj InnerCircle Gold and Platinum members will be matched with oneworld Sapphire status, while Copper and Silver members will be matched with oneworld Ruby status.

Likewise, oneworld Emerald members will receive Taj InnerCircle Gold status, while Ruby and Sapphire members will be matched with Taj InnerCircle Silver status.

The partners are also exploring opportunities to allow travellers to earn airline miles through hotel stays across select oneworld airline programmes later this year.

Catering to global travellers
The partnership comes as IHCL continues to expand its international footprint and attract a growing base of global travellers.

Indian Hotels Company, Managing Director & CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, said, “This partnership with oneworld reflects the growing consumer preference for more integrated travel experiences. As we expand Taj’s international footprint, such alliances strengthen our ability to engage a wider global audience, bringing together scale and warm Indian hospitality to create a seamless proposition across markets.”

Strengthening customer engagement
For oneworld, the collaboration extends the value of its loyalty proposition beyond air travel and into hospitality experiences.

oneworld, CEO, Ole Orvér, said, “We are pleased to bring together the world’s premium airline alliance with IHCL’s Taj InnerCircle NeuPass. Members can now enjoy IHCL’s celebrated brands including the iconic Taj, bringing its century-old heritage of luxury in a first-of-its-kind partnership to extend the value of oneworld loyalty beyond air travel.”

A broader travel proposition
The agreement underscores how loyalty programmes are increasingly evolving into comprehensive travel ecosystems rather than standalone airline or hotel rewards platforms.

With oneworld connecting nearly 1,000 destinations through 15 member airlines and IHCL operating one of India’s largest hospitality portfolios, the partnership is expected to offer travellers a more seamless experience while creating new engagement opportunities for both organisations.
