CW Bureau ·

Shriram General Insurance Company (SGIC) has entered into a strategic corporate agency partnership with SK Finance Ltd, a 31-year-old non-banking financial company (NBFC), to expand access to general insurance solutions across key markets.

Under the partnership, SGIC will offer its portfolio of general insurance products through SK Finance’s network of more than 700 branches and other designated distribution channels. The association is aimed at making relevant insurance protection solutions more accessible to customers, particularly across rural and semi-urban markets.

Expanding insurance access
The partnership combines SGIC’s general insurance capabilities with SK Finance’s extensive distribution network and presence across emerging markets. Customers will be able to access SGI’s insurance solutions through SK Finance’s distribution channels, while SGI will manage claims and servicing through its established mechanisms.

The partnership is expected to strengthen insurance awareness and improve access to protection products among customers who may have limited access to comprehensive insurance solutions.

Focus on financial resilience
SK Finance Ltd, Managing Director and CEO, Rajendra Kumar Setia, said: “Insurance is an important enabler of financial resilience, particularly for customers in rural and semi-urban markets, where access to comprehensive protection solutions can play a meaningful role in safeguarding their financial journeys. Our partnership with Shriram General Insurance is a step towards making relevant insurance solutions more accessible and seamlessly integrated with our financing ecosystem.”

He added that SK Finance’s presence across emerging markets, combined with continued investments in technology, would help bring insurance closer to customers and their families.
