Cyient Semiconductors has secured a strategic financing transaction from funds managed by EAAA India Alternatives Ltd and affiliated co-investors to strengthen its capital structure and accelerate expansion of its semiconductor business.
The transaction includes an equity investment of about $10 million (around ₹100 crore) at a post-money valuation of $500 million (₹4,600 crore), along with $20 million in structured debt capital.
Expansion Plans
The combined $30 million funding will be utilised for product research and development in power semiconductors and application-specific standard products (ASSPs), creation of semiconductor validation and testing infrastructure in India and meeting working capital requirements for larger global customer programmes.
Cyient Semiconductors CEO, Suman Narayan, said the financing would accelerate the company’s journey towards becoming a globally relevant power semiconductor company built from India and competing in international markets.
The company said the investment would help expand its proprietary semiconductor platform, strengthen product ownership and support long-term growth opportunities in AI infrastructure, automotive, industrial and communications sectors.
Focus On Power Semiconductors And AI
The funding comes at a time when artificial intelligence-driven computing is sharply increasing demand for energy-efficient semiconductor solutions, especially for data centres and high-performance computing infrastructure.
The company said the investment would support its plans to expand capabilities in power semiconductors and custom silicon solutions, areas expected to witness significant global demand amid rapid AI adoption and increasing focus on energy efficiency.
Product-Led Semiconductor Strategy
Over the last year, Cyient Semiconductors acquired Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor company with over three billion chips shipped globally, more than 250 products and over 100 patents.
The company also launched India’s first gallium nitride (GaN) power IC family in partnership with Navitas Semiconductor and entered into strategic partnerships with GlobalFoundries and MIPS. It also secured the Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) modernisation programme, a key initiative under India’s semiconductor roadmap.
