Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has kicked off FY27 on a strong note, clocking its highest-ever domestic April sales since inception. The company reported domestic sales of 51,902 units in April 2026, marking a robust 17% year-on-year growth.
In addition, HMIL recorded export sales of 13,708 units during the month, underlining its continued global traction.
Strong start to FY27 backed by product interventions
HMIL MD & CEO Tarun Garg said the company has successfully carried forward its recent growth momentum into the new financial year.
He attributed the performance to strong customer response towards recent launches and updates, including the Hyundai Exter, Hyundai Verna, Hyundai IONIQ 5, Hyundai Creta Summer Edition, Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Vibe Edition and Hyundai Venue Knight Edition, which have reinforced the competitiveness of Hyundai’s portfolio in the Indian market.
Venue emerges as star performer
The Hyundai Venue stood out as a key growth driver, achieving its highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 12,420 units in April 2026.
Further strengthening its market presence, Hyundai introduced the Venue Knight Edition on April 20, adding a fresh appeal to the model lineup.
Focus on safety and innovation
Hyundai’s emphasis on safety continues to play a crucial role in customer preference. The Venue and Venue N Line secured a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to safer mobility.
The company also expanded its EV portfolio with the launch of the updated Hyundai IONIQ 5 on April 28.
