British iconic brand Morris Garages (MG) has unveiled two all-new electric vehicle concepts, MG GO! and MG Cyber Concept, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026, offering a glimpse into the brand’s future design philosophy that blends its British sporting heritage with next-generation electric mobility.
The two concept vehicles, making their global debut at the iconic motoring event, signal MG’s plans to expand its EV portfolio with emotionally engaging products that combine performance, technology and distinctive styling.
MG GO! previews 2027 electric hatchback
The MG GO! concept previews a production-ready B-segment electric hatchback scheduled for launch in 2027.
Designed entirely at the MG Design Centre in London under the leadership of Design Director Carl Gotham, the concept draws inspiration from iconic MG models such as the MGB GT, while adopting a modern retro-futuristic design language.
According to the company, the objective was not to recreate a nostalgic classic but to develop a contemporary electric hatchback with broad consumer appeal and a distinctive personality in an increasingly competitive EV market.
The concept incorporates clean design elements and proportions intended to evoke the simplicity, elegance and emotional appeal associated with MG’s historic models, while remaining relevant for a new generation of buyers.
Cyber Concept explores performance SUV of the future
The MG Cyber Concept showcases the company’s vision for a future D-segment high-performance electric SUV.
Inspired by the legendary MG EX181 land speed record car, the concept combines SUV practicality with the dynamic characteristics traditionally associated with sports cars.
MG said the Cyber Concept has been developed around the idea of “performance without compromise,” aiming to deliver everyday usability alongside engaging driving dynamics.
The design features muscular proportions, sculpted body surfaces and an athletic stance intended to communicate motion and performance while reinforcing MG’s evolving design identity.
Blending heritage with innovation
With the unveiling of both concepts, MG is signalling its intention to carry forward its century-old British sporting legacy into the electric era.
The company said the two vehicles represent different ends of its future product strategy, from an accessible compact electric hatchback to a flagship performance SUV, while sharing a common focus on emotional design, advanced technology and driving enjoyment.
Design leaders outline future vision
MG Design Centre London, Design Director, Carl Gotham, said the MG GO! was conceived as a compact electric car that combines contemporary styling with the warmth and character long associated with the MG brand.
He said the concept reinterprets the emotional appeal of classic MG models without becoming a nostalgic exercise, creating a vehicle designed to connect with modern customers.
MG, Vice President – Global Design, Jozef Kabaň, said future automotive design must focus on creating vehicles with strong identities that establish emotional connections with customers rather than relying solely on technology.
He added that the new MG concepts reflect the company’s ambition to inspire customers through distinctive design while enriching everyday mobility.
Strengthening MG’s electric roadmap
The debut of the MG GO! and Cyber Concept underlines the company’s broader strategy of expanding its global electric vehicle portfolio with products that balance heritage-inspired styling, advanced EV technology and performance.
The production version of the MG GO! is expected to arrive in 2027, while the Cyber Concept offers an early indication of MG’s long-term ambitions in the premium electric SUV segment.
