Kirby Building Systems & Structures India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries, has commenced work on its fourth manufacturing facility at Manapparai, near Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu.
Kirby is a global player in the design, manufacture and construction of pre-engineered steel building systems and structural steel solutions. The new facility is expected to commence commercial operations by mid-2027.
New facility to add capacity
The state-of-the-art facility will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 100,000 tonnes and will be developed across approximately 33.2 acres.
Once operational, the plant will increase Kirby India’s total annual manufacturing capacity to 400,000 tonnes, strengthening its ability to serve customers across Southern India and other key markets.
Investment reflects India confidence

Kirby International, CEO Waleed K. Alghanim, said the investment was an important part of the company’s future, expanding capacity and strengthening its presence in Southern India.
Advanced manufacturing capabilities
“The new Tamil Nadu facility will allow us to serve customers across Southern India with greater speed and flexibility while bringing advanced manufacturing capabilities closer to the markets we serve,” Kirby India, Managing Director, P. V. Mohan, said.

Moving beyond PEB manufacturing
The company said the groundbreaking marks more than an expansion of manufacturing capacity and represents another step in its evolution from a pre-engineered building manufacturer into a broader engineering and structural steel solutions partner.
The expansion is aimed at supporting India’s transition towards advanced manufacturing and next-generation infrastructure while strengthening Kirby’s manufacturing footprint and customer reach.
