Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA, has launched Sugammadex Injection in the United States, expanding its injectables portfolio with a generic version of Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC’s blockbuster anaesthesia reversal drug BRIDION.
The company said the product is available in 200 mg/2 mL (100 mg/mL) and 500 mg/5 mL (100 mg/mL) single-dose vials.
Glenmark’s Sugammadex Injection has been approved as bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug, BRIDION Injection, 100 mg/mL, enabling it to compete in a sizeable hospital medicines market.
According to IQVIA sales data for the 12-month period ended May 2026, the BRIDION Injection market recorded annual sales of approximately $1.6 billion, highlighting the commercial opportunity for generic manufacturers.
Expands US injectables portfolio
The launch strengthens Glenmark’s presence in the US hospital and institutional healthcare segment, where injectable medicines continue to witness robust demand.
Marc Kikuchi, President & Business Head, North America, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, said the Day 1 launch reflects the company’s execution capabilities and long-term strategy in the injectables business.
“The launch of Sugammadex Injection represents a significant addition to Glenmark’s growing U.S. injectables portfolio and strengthens our presence in the hospital and institutional segment. Achieving a Day 1 launch reflects the agility, preparedness and execution discipline behind our injectable strategy,” he said.
Kikuchi added that the launch demonstrates Glenmark’s ability to identify meaningful market opportunities, enhance supply reliability and improve patient access to high-quality, affordable medicines across the US healthcare system.
