Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has entered ready-to-drink dairy market with the launch of Joyland flavoured milk at ₹20, in Tamil Nadu, as the company expands its beverage portfolio and prepares for a nationwide rollout.
Available in Strawberry and Vanilla flavours, Joyland is made with dairy ingredients and targets consumers seeking convenient, affordable dairy-based beverages.
The launch in Tamil Nadu marks the beginning of RCPL’s planned expansion into the ready-to-drink dairy segment, with the company looking to build Joyland into a broader dairy beverages portfolio.
Nationwide expansion planned
RCPL said Joyland would be available across Tamil Nadu with immediate effect, leveraging the company’s distribution infrastructure, retail presence and understanding of consumer preferences.
Following its launch in the state, the product will be progressively introduced in other parts of India. The company also plans to expand its flavour range and enter multiple dairy beverage categories.
The ₹20 price point places Joyland in the accessible segment of the packaged beverage market, where affordability, convenience and product differentiation are important factors in attracting consumers.
The launch also extends RCPL’s existing beverage portfolio as it seeks to increase its presence across consumer categories under its strategy of offering global-quality products at affordable prices.
Expanding the FMCG portfolio
“Our entry into the ready-to-drink dairy market is a significant step in extending RCPL’s portfolio and widening the choices we offer consumers,” said Reliance Consumer Products Ltd Director, T Krishnakumar.
With Joyland, the company aims to combine dairy ingredients, quality and affordability, making packaged dairy beverages accessible to more households, he added.
Tamil Nadu will serve as the starting point for the brand’s expansion, with RCPL planning to gradually extend its reach across the country.
The entry into flavoured milk gives Reliance Consumer Products an opportunity to expand beyond its existing beverage offerings into a segment that combines dairy consumption with the convenience of ready-to-drink products.
The company’s distribution network and retail scale are expected to support the rollout, while the planned addition of flavours and other dairy beverage categories could broaden the brand’s market presence.
