Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported total dispatches of 5,68,398 units in August 2026, up 3% from 5,53,727 units in the corresponding month last year.
The company said retail momentum remained strong, with VAHAN registrations growing 19% year-on-year, signalling robust demand conditions as the Indian two-wheeler market enters the festive season.
VAHAN data excludes Telangana and is as of September 1, 2026.
VIDA sustains strong retail momentum
Hero MotoCorp’s emerging mobility business unit, VIDA, continued to record strong retail traction in August, with dispatches of 25,558 units and VAHAN growth of 38% year-on-year.
During the month, VIDA expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the VIDA VX2 Go with a 3.1 kWh fixed battery, widening its EVOOTER range and providing customers with a more accessible entry point into premium electric mobility.
VIDA also strengthened its engagement with sports and youth audiences by becoming the Title Partner of VIDA Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).
The brand further strengthened its design credentials by securing Red Dot Design Concept Awards for the NOVUS series and VIDA Dirt.E MX7.
Its digital and social media initiatives also received recognition, with VIDA winning two SAMMIE Awards for Best Social Media Brand – Automobile and Best Use of Branded Content.
Domestic ICE business maintains strong retail growth
Hero MotoCorp’s domestic internal combustion engine (ICE) business recorded dispatches of 5,16,747 units in August 2026, while VAHAN retail registrations grew 18% year-on-year.
The company said sustained retail momentum, coupled with a more flexible supply chain ecosystem capable of responding quickly to festive demand, is expected to support sales during the upcoming festive season.
The Splendor and new Passion continued to attract strong customer demand, while the Glamour X and upgraded Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 strengthened the motorcycle portfolio.
In scooters, the Destini and Xoom series continued to drive the company’s presence in the segment.
The Glamour X 125 was also named ‘Commuter of the Year’ at the ABP Network Auto Awards.
Hero MotoCorp’s premium experiential selling skill programme received the Brandon Hall Gold Award, recognising it as the best unique/innovative learning and development programme among automotive OEMs.
Global business expands international portfolio
Hero MotoCorp’s Global Business unit recorded dispatches of 26,093 units in August 2026.
As part of its international expansion, the company launched the XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 200 4V Pro in Bangladesh, marking a significant milestone in its 12-year presence in the market and strengthening its premium motorcycle portfolio.
Premiumisation remains a key growth pillar for Hero MotoCorp. To drive this strategy, the company has appointed Anuj Dua as Chief Business Officer – Premium Segment, with a mandate to lead the next phase of growth in premium mobility.
With strong VAHAN retail growth across its domestic ICE and VIDA businesses, along with continued expansion in international markets and premium mobility, Hero MotoCorp is entering the festive season with a broad-based growth strategy.
