Maruti Suzuki India has expanded its compact SUV portfolio with the launch of the new Brezza Turbo Boosterjet, signalling a renewed push to attract younger buyers seeking higher performance without compromising on fuel efficiency.

Priced from an introductory ₹7.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the new turbocharged variant complements the existing Brezza range powered by the K15C Smart Hybrid engine, giving customers a wider choice of powertrains as competition intensifies in India’s compact SUV segment.

The launch comes as automakers increasingly diversify product line-ups to cater to varying customer preferences, ranging from performance-oriented buyers to those prioritising fuel economy and practicality.

Turbocharged performance
The new Brezza Turbo Boosterjet is powered by a turbo-petrol engine producing 81 kW at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm.

Paired with a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission, the SUV delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.47 kmpl, while aiming to offer a more engaging driving experience.

Maruti Suzuki has positioned the Turbo Boosterjet variant around the theme of ‘Spontaneous Play’, targeting younger customers looking for a sportier driving character.

Hybrid and CNG options retained
Alongside the turbo variant, the Brezza continues with the K15C Dual Jet Dual VVT engine featuring Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology.

The hybrid version is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission equipped with steering-mounted paddle shifters. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 21.09 kmpl for the K15C variants.

Maruti Suzuki has also retained the Brezza S-CNG, now featuring an underbody CNG tank to preserve boot space. Equipped with Idle Start-Stop technology and a new 6-speed manual gearbox, the CNG model offers a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.9 km/kg.

Enhanced safety package
The new Brezza has been engineered to achieve a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating and introduces several advanced driver assistance features.

These include Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Emergency Stop Signal and Exit Support Warning, aimed at improving safety during everyday driving.

Targeting diverse customer profiles
Maruti Suzuki India Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee said the company has developed the New Brezza to appeal to different customer personalities and lifestyles.

He said the Turbo Boosterjet variant adds a new level of driving excitement for younger buyers, while the hybrid-powered Brezza continues to cater to customers focused on everyday practicality, efficiency and refinement.
