ICF Signs ₹1,565-Cr Pact For 51 Train Rakes For Bengaluru Suburban Rail

Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru Integrated Rail Infrastructure Development Enterprise Ltd (Bi-RIDE) for the manufacture and supply of 51 rakes of 3-car train sets for the Bengaluru Suburban Transport project.

The project has an indicated value of ₹1,565 crore, according to ICF.

The MoU was formally executed on September 1, 2026, at ICF, Chennai, by Chandrasekaran B., CPLE, ICF and Prasanna Kumar Kshatriya, Advisor, Bi-RIDE.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Manish Agarwal, General Manager, ICF, and Lakshman Singh, Managing Director, Bi-RIDE, along with senior officials from both organisations.

The agreement marks a step towards the manufacture and supply of train sets for the Bengaluru Suburban Transport project, which is aimed at strengthening suburban rail connectivity in Bengaluru.

The 51 rakes, each comprising three cars, will together represent a substantial deployment of new rolling stock for the project.

ICF, Bi-RIDE collaboration
The MoU brings together ICF, one of the Indian Railways’ major coach manufacturing units, and Bi-RIDE, the enterprise associated with the Bengaluru suburban rail project, for the proposed supply programme.

The project carries an indicated value of ₹1,565 crore, making it a significant order opportunity for ICF and an important procurement milestone for the Bengaluru Suburban Transport project.
