Norton Unveils New 450 Cc Urban Motorcycle, Sales To Begin In 2027

CW Bureau ·

Norton Motorcycles, the British premium motorcycle brand owned by TVS Motor Company, has unveiled a new 450 cc urban motorcycle, marking its entry into a new product category as it accelerates its global revival strategy.

The motorcycle is powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine producing 45 Nm of torque. It features an aluminium frame designed to deliver agile handling and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen with advanced connectivity features.

Announced in London on November 2, 2026, the new motorcycle brings Norton’s design philosophy, engineering capabilities and riding characteristics to a wider customer base. The company said sales would begin in 2027, with the official model name to be announced ahead of the launch.

The new model is part of Norton’s broader strategy to expand its product portfolio while retaining the distinctive design and craftsmanship associated with the British marque.

TVS seeks to broaden Norton’s market appeal
TVS Motor Company Chairman Sudarshan Venu said the new motorcycle represented an extension of Norton’s design and engineering philosophy into an entirely new category rather than merely an expansion of its product range.

He said the company’s ambition was to bring Norton’s distinctive character and riding experience to a new generation of customers while preserving the principles that define the brand.

Sudarshan added that TVS Motor’s long-term investment, global engineering capabilities and commitment to the brand would support the development of a new generation of Norton motorcycles for international markets.

Product revival gathers momentum
The 450 cc motorcycle builds on the product expansion initiated at EICMA 2025, where Norton unveiled four new-generation motorcycles — the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT.

Deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas have begun in European markets, while the Manx and Atlas GT are scheduled to follow.

Norton’s renewed emphasis on design has also received international recognition. The Manx R won the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept, following its success at the 2026 International Design Excellence Awards.

The company is also working with architectural firm Foster + Partners to develop a new global retail concept aimed at creating a consistent premium brand experience across markets.

Global expansion, including India, on the agenda
Norton’s revival is backed by TVS Motor’s investment in the British brand and its international engineering network. The company’s Solihull facility in the UK continues to serve as a centre for motorcycle design and engineering, supported by TVS Motor’s global engineering centre in Italy and research and development headquarters in India.

Norton has established a retail network of more than 50 locations across 10 markets, including the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. Preparations are also under way for its entry into India and the US.

The new 450 cc motorcycle is expected to play an important role in this expansion by taking the brand into a broader motorcycle segment and attracting customers beyond its traditional premium motorcycle base.

For TVS Motor, the expansion of Norton represents an opportunity to build an internationally recognised premium motorcycle portfolio by combining British design heritage with its global engineering and manufacturing capabilities
