CW Bureau ·

Brigade Group has marked a significant milestone in Kerala’s IT and commercial real estate landscape with the foundation stone laying of its flagship World Trade Center (WTC) at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. Envisioned as a global business hub, the upcoming WTC is designed to strengthen the state’s technology ecosystem while positioning the capital city as a preferred destination for international enterprises.

The development will comprise a 20-storey tower, in addition to a ground floor and four basement levels. Once completed, the WTC is expected to play a pivotal role in attracting global investment, fostering innovation, and creating high-quality employment opportunities, further reinforcing Technopark’s standing as one of India’s leading IT parks.

M.R. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman, Brigade Enterprises Ltd., underscored the Group’s long-term vision for the region. “At Brigade, we have always believed in the transformative power of infrastructure to elevate cities into global economic hubs. Our commitment to Kerala is driven by the state’s exceptional talent pool and its growing potential as a key growth engine for South India. By bringing world-class landmarks like the World Trade Center to Thiruvananthapuram, and by expanding our footprint in Kochi, we are building a sustainable ecosystem that will attract global investment and reshape the state’s industrial landscape for decades. The WTC will stand as an iconic addition to Technopark’s ecosystem,” he said.

In parallel, Brigade Group is planning a major expansion at Infopark, Kochi, with the addition of another tower to its existing World Trade Center campus. This expansion will take Brigade’s total IT office footprint in Kochi to approximately one million square feet, including the already operational towers at WTC Kochi.

Sandip Kumar, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Technopark, highlighted the strategic advantages offered by Thiruvananthapuram for technology-driven enterprises. “The city offers strong connectivity and a robust talent pool, enabling companies to scale and thrive. Technopark continues to provide significant opportunities with the availability of land and built-up space. The upcoming IT policy will further outline incentives for the industry, while policy-level interventions can address land constraints at Infopark Kochi,” he noted.

Brigade Group has developed several landmark projects across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and GIFT City, with a diversified portfolio spanning residential, office, retail, hospitality, and education segments.

Further outlining the Group’s growth roadmap, Hrishikesh Nair, President, World Trade Center, said Brigade is actively planning additional IT infrastructure developments in Thiruvananthapuram. These initiatives aim to create a comprehensive, future-ready environment that enables global companies to establish and scale their operations in Kerala.
