Emami Ltd., a leading FMCG company engaged in manufacturing and marketing of personal care & healthcare products, has executed a definitive agreement to acquire the remaining 73.5% stake in Axiom Ayurveda Pvt Ltd for ₹200 crore, subject to customary closing conditions.
In the first tranche, Emami has already acquired an additional 36.7% stake, taking its total holding to 63.2% (including its existing 26.5% stake). While the agreement was signed recently, the acquisition is expected to be completed in a phased manner over the next three months, in line with regulatory requirements.
Expanding presence in health beverages
Axiom’s portfolio includes beverage products under the AloFrut brand, health juices under Axiom Jeevan Ras, and beauty products under Mukti Gold. The company also offers mocktails, energy drinks and ayurvedic juices, with AloFrut having a strong presence across general trade and government institutions.
With this acquisition, Axiom will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Emami, marking the company’s formal entry into the fast-growing beverage segment.
Strategic growth focus
Emami Vice Chairman & Managing Director Harsha Vardhan Agarwal said: “Our growth strategy is centered on building presence in emerging, high-opportunity categories that align with evolving consumer preferences, particularly in the health and wellness space.”
He added that Emami’s partnership with Axiom over the past two-and-a-half years has provided valuable insights and strengthened its conviction in the segment.
Axiom is a profitable and growing company and is expected to achieve a topline of around ₹180 crore in FY26.
Tapping shift towards healthier alternatives
Axiom Ayurveda Founder Rishabh Gupta said: “Consumers today are increasingly moving away from carbonated beverages and seeking healthier alternatives without compromising on taste. At Axiom focus is on combining health with taste which has been central to our positioning in the market.
Leadership addition to drive next phase
As part of its next growth phase under Emami, Axiom has onboarded Harkirat Bedi as Chief Executive Officer. He was previously Vice President & Business Head at Dabur Nepal.
The appointment is expected to strengthen leadership capabilities and accelerate expansion in the health and wellness beverage segment.
The acquisition aligns with Emami’s broader strategy of leveraging new-age, synergistic segments to complement its core personal care and healthcare businesses.
