Krishival Foods Ltd, an FMCG company specialising in premium nuts, dried fruits and ice cream, has expanded its deep freezer network to over 15,000 units across its retail network, strengthening cold chain infrastructure and last-mile distribution for its ice cream brand Melt N Mellow.
The company’s freezer base increased from 3,732 units at the beginning of the year to 15,490 units as of March 2026, reflecting a sharp scale-up to support growth in the ice cream segment.
Cold chain push
Krishival Foods’ distribution footprint spans over 30,000 retail touchpoints across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, supported by a network of distributors.
The expansion marks a key step in scaling the Melt N Mellow brand and improving product availability across urban as well as Tier II and Tier III markets.
Last mile connectivity
Krishival Foods, Chairman Sujit Bangar, said the focus remains on strengthening last-mile connectivity and ensuring superior product availability, particularly for the ice cream portfolio, while positioning the company to capture rising demand in the frozen foods segment.
The expanded network is expected to enhance product visibility, ensure consistent quality and improve retail throughput for temperature-sensitive products.
Distribution and capacity
Melt N Mellow Ice Cream, Chief Executive Officer Abhishek Puranik, said crossing 15,000 deep freezers marks a milestone in building a scalable distribution ecosystem for the brand.
The company operates a manufacturing facility with a capacity of 1 lakh litres per day, supported by an end-to-end cold chain system to maintain product integrity from production to delivery.
Growth outlook
Favourable industry trends, including rising disposable incomes, urbanisation and increasing demand for premium and indulgent food products, are supporting growth in the ice cream segment.
Krishival Foods plans to continue expanding its cold chain footprint and deepen penetration in key markets while scaling its presence across Tier II and Tier III cities.
