Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL) is moving towards an AI-driven, hyper-local commerce model to drive its next phase of growth, leveraging scale, data and last-mile delivery capabilities across categories, said its Executive Director Isha M Ambani.
Reliance Retail operates India’s widest hyper-local delivery network across grocery, electronics and fashion, powered by over 3,100 stores across 1,200 cities and 5,100 pin codes.
“As we enter FY27, our focus is on converting this unmatched reach into deeper customer value – through AI-embedded merchandising, sharper pricing architecture, and disciplined execution. The balance sheet is strong and our leadership across categories is widening. We are building Reliance Retail for a decade of sustainable, profitable growth,” she said.
Digital scale and hyper-local traction underpin performance
RRVL reported gross revenue of ₹98,232 crore for the March quarter, up 11%, supported by strong traction in digital platforms and hyper-local commerce.
Total transactions rose 62% to 585 million, while the registered customer base expanded to 387 million. Hyper-local commerce scaled rapidly, with average daily orders surging 300%. Net profit for the quarter rose 0.5% to ₹3,565 crore.
Grocery and JioMart anchor digital expansion
The grocery segment delivered steady performance, supported by omni-channel integration and the expansion of Smart Bazaar stores beyond the 1,000-mark. Growth was led by staples, home and personal care and processed food categories.
JioMart continued to scale its hyper-local commerce network, expanding into electronics and fashion with a two-hour delivery promise, while also strengthening its seller ecosystem.
Fashion and electronics benefit from platform integration
The fashion and lifestyle business reported steady growth, aided by digital enablement across stores and improved platform engagement, with Ajio seeing a 23% increase in average bill value.
Consumer electronics witnessed strong traction, with digital-led campaigns driving a 30% growth in sales, alongside continued expansion of the service network.
